The v2 is just the upgrades ferrule , snap collar and blades. Think of it as a mega meat , with 1 1/2” cut. The blades aligned on the off spots of the ferrule allow for better deployment than the first deadmeat.

 

Is the difference between the DM V2 100 and 125 grain; that the 100 uses an aluminum insert that screws into the shaft vs the 125 using a steel insert? Thanks.

 

They offset the blades fron the point to help them open better and they are supposed to be sharper than the originals as well.

 

Pretty much how they open has changed a bit. The originals, which I’ve had no issues with and still shoot, can grab hair/flesh between the blade and ferrule upon impact. The V2 corrects this issue.

 

This is correct from what I can tell. I am one of the people that had issues with hair slash tissue keeping the blades from fully deploying. Now that they have fixed that I am considering giving them another shot.

 

I'm going with the Deadmeat 125 this year based on feedback from friends using them along with some internet reviews. May even try the MegaMeat as I have lots of KE. Also, I have a new pack of Deadmeat V2 100 grain for sale as I decided to go with 125 in my setup.

 

I'll be trying out the 125 megas and deadmeats as well this year.

 

Would these be considered barbed? I've considered them, but I can't used barbed broadheads in MN.

 

When they were first released G5 said they weren't. I have heard certain states do consider them barbed. I believe it was NJ, bluecollaroutdoors said they talked to DNR and they weren't allowed. I would contact your local authorities and ask.

 

I ordered 2 packs of the DM V2 125 from Eders and they sent me the older ones which I don't want. Their website clearly outlined them as V2. I have always had good service but never had to return anything before. Their CS sucks and I am having a tough time getting an RA to return them. Just a heads up.

 

One week later despite daily emails and Eders is still not responding after sending me wrong items.

 

Are the v2s flying the same as the original deadmeats?

 

The ones I used last year, I couldn’t tell a difference in flight from one to the other.

 

Just to chime in on this thread about the barbed issue, I was under the impression the original DeadMeat is barbed, V2 is not. Can anyone please confirm?

 

I’m almost certain I will have dead meat v2 125’s in my quiver this year as well as some exodus… really wanting to try some mechanical heads and I think they will be my choice. Might buy some GR’s to try too, but leaning towards the dead meat v2
