Ok not to add to the monotony of the other Bowtech v. Mathews threads but I have a question or two. Without really getting into the debate of how much speed one needs compared to shot placement, why is the extra speed on the Allegiance needed? One can get clean shots that go through with less speed than what even the Mathews offers. One minute I'm gonna buy the Allegiance and the next I'm going to buy the Switchback XT. So my question is does one really need the extra speed of the Allegiance? If so, what are the advantages if through shots can be consistently achieved with the speed of the Mathews?

(Keep in mind I'm only hunting whitetail and both feel equally good.)

one advantage is you can probably crank the draw weight down to a more comfortable weight and still maintain some decent speed depending on draw lenght of course.just a thought:wink: that's what I do with mine instead of shooting 70lbs all the time

I am biased so with that being said , speed isnt all that. forget about speed and chose the right bow for you. The BowTechs do sell themselves so I really dont see a need to push the Allegiance on you.Only you will know the best bow to pick. Good Luck:wink:

I remember when I had to shoot 75 or 80 pounds to get the speed I'm getting with my 60 pound Allegiance but hey,, it's your money:)

The extra speed will decrease your pin gap and let you place longer distance pins in your scope housing. But for whitetail only mostly 20-30 yard shots, I would go with the one that feels right when you shoot it.
