Who uses them and what success have you had...??

I tried a Doe 1 time last year and had a neat experience with a good buck... Didn't end up getting him, but it was awesome to watch him react to the decoy... I think I am going to pickup a buck this year and try that, maybe even try both...

Can you use your target deer as a target?
Of course you can use your target as a target.

The best part is you can also use it as a decoy, the only downside being hefting it to your stand site.

Last year I had a target set up in my yard and one day I noticed that the head of it was on the ground. Needless to say when I looked at it up close I found that the plastic tabs that lock it into the body were broke and one of the steel rods that keep it upright was bent a little. The interesting part is that it didn't have the antlers on it at the time.

I guess you could... Depends on how shot up it is... I would want to use something that looks rather good... My 3D target is pretty shot up...
last year my buck that I got came into my delta target without the antlers. That target was so beat up in the vital area that I couldn't shoot into it with out a pass through and it worked for me. (I used the can call with it)

I use a decoy most of the year and have had some great reactions. We use alot of decoys in our videos, Fair Chase Whitetails, and the help keep the deer's attention off of you. They can back fire some times too. IF you want to take a doe I would recommend not to use one because those old does don't take to well to a decoy. You can check out our videos at www.slungerhollow.com.

I try to set up in such a way that approaching deer can see the decoy from a distance and walk up to it. They seem to freak out a bit when they are surprised by a decoy up close. Montana Decoys are pretty sweet. They are incredibly lifelike and as easy to carry as anything out there. They have buck and doe decoys. Check 'em out.
