What do you use?

Do you think the Scentlock works?

How often do you wash it?

Do you dry it after every use?

How long will a suit last?

Is it really hot in the early season?

Yes, I think there is some advantage. Especially the masks.

I wash more often in early season when it's hot and I'm sweating more.

No, don't dry after every use.

I've had the same suit for about 4 years.

Yes, it's hot in the early season. Last year I tried some of the Scent Lok Savana designed for warm weather. It was a little better.

I'm a firm believer it Scent Lok / Scent Blocker. I have not seen a deer wind me since using it, i.e. coming in down wind and blowing or leaving in a hurry. I'm sure it's possible deer I have not seen have busted me and I just didn't know about it.

It's a scam.

IMHO, carbon clothing is a scam cloaked in a bunch of bogus, albeit seemingly well reasoned research, based on a concept that just doesn't work in its intended application. :secret: :zip:

let it go, just do not buy it if you do not like it. IE grunt calls biggest waste of money IMO for mature whitetail hunting. If you want to call in a little one they are great here in MI. I do not get personel, I just do not use them.

Let it go folks:cocktail: :cocktail:

I think the limited effectivness and how long will it be effective are not worth the money and hassle. I see racks and racks of carbon lined garments for sale in sporting goods stores. How much scent have these absorbed already and how much more can the absorb? From what I have seen, based on various studies, your clothes dryer cannot heat the carbon hot enough to cause it to release trapped molecules. I used a suit off and on over a season and couldn't see a difference. Just my opinon.

Not cheap.... no question.

If cost is an issue, at least get a Scent Lok Head cover. It is a ball cap with built-in hood. Very nice fit, etc.

And at least also get maybe the Scent Blocker Underguard top.

Following year than maybe the S.B. Underguard bottoms.

Your head is the most important. I brush my teeth with backing soda before I go out. I than chew the "hunter's" gum that is out there. Going to try the new Scent Shield's gum. It has a mild fresh apple flavor at first I guess. Than goes away.

Dead Down Wind's breath spray is another good idea.
If you do the things I mentioned above, maybe an hour before shooting time spray your mouth with it.

A customer of mine said he keeps the spray handy.
If a deer is coming his way and he has time fo course... he sprays his mouth.

H.S. wafers are great too. Earth scent is my favorite.

Dub,

I'm surprised that with a thread count over about 200 you even asked this question. Although I have not read thru your history, I'm pretty sure you know what you're getting with this type question.

I don't use it, but basically my attitude is that if you can afford it, go for it. It certainly won't hurt you, unless you think that because of the carbon you can cut short other parts of your scent control routine.

I did not vote for either because I don't have it, but would love to ,but way to expensive. I definitly think it works.

I don't believe you can beat a deers nose, thats why I voted no.Sometimes your scent blows over them but I find it hard to believe there's a "miracle suit" that completely hides human odor when a deer is downwind. If your clean as can be,I think that's your best bet.The claim of "forget the wind just hunt" is bogus.IMO

I've never used it, i would like to try, just can't get myself to shell out that kind of money for what could be nothing more than peace of mine. I do keep myself clean as possible and use home made scent killer and hunt well off the ground 25- 30 ft.
oh, i also play the wind , seems to be the best way to beat a deers nose in my experince :darkbeer:
