The lease we hunt is 200 acres and shared by five hunters and all five have never hunted on the same day and probably never will. Almost every person said don't hunt the same place all the time. We all have our spot picked out and we don't get near each others spot during deer season. I think I could move to a diffrent spot maybe 150yds. away and hunt the same trail. Will this be better than hunting the same stand all the time? Thanks.oktx.

Deer hunting do.

I hunted in south Texas and the hill country for many years, some of my best hunting memories. back to the question. I have always found it is best to not hunt the same stand day after day. so I would say yes move down the trail .

I've found that deer will often use a parallel trail if they suspect something on their regular route. Look for trails that run parallel to the one you currently hunt for an alternate stand sight.

You said day after day. Never hunted a stand more than two days in a row. We only get to hunt about once a week. I could move to a diffrent site for bow season and back to our regular site for gun.

I would say that you should base it on the deer behavior on your lease. First, just because you only hunt that stand once a week, you can still "overhunt" it by hunting it on the wrong wind. Also, if the deer come from a different direction than you predicted and come from down wind, this could reduce the effectiveness of that stand. If you continue to see deer on a weekly basis when you are in that stand, stay if the wind is right. If, for any reason, you see deer going around the stand to avoid it, if you notice that the deer start "looking for you" when they get a certain distance away, or if you just stop seeing deer all together from that stand, move! Remember, you don't have to know that you were busted to be busted!

The most ideal thing to do is to keep the deer guessing about your location by staying one step ahead. Naturally this is extremely hard if not impossible to do sometimes, but it is the perfect thing to do.
When you have a deer scouted enough that you've seen a good portion of his daily travels then it is possible.
Move often and stay sharp.
