here in my little town it's 5-600 bucks but he is the only taxidermist around for about 2hr drive. After seeing his work the drive might be worth it.

Really varies by area. I'm a taxidermist, and I know a world champion taxidermists who get less than average guys in my area. I will say this, at $500, to do what I consider a QUALITY deer mount, you pay more per hour to have your muffler replaced, your lawn mower repaired, or your bow tuned!

My guy is $525 in western Pa. Others are down around the $300 range. Years ago I opted for a cheap mount and I regret it every day.

Last one I had done 4 years ago was 525. Didn't look anything like the deer I shot, think he used a doe form to make it easier to fit the cape, so now I just do euro's.

I think I paid 350 for my last one. But remember the last thing you should consider is price when getting taxidermy work done. Your going to be looking at this thing for the rest of your life, what's a few hundred extra dollars?
