Wanting to see everyone's deer skinning pole pics to get some ideas for our camp. At home we have a nice setup in the barn, but that won't be feasible at camp since we are short 1 barn. LOL.

Cspot, this doesn't show much but but it basically is 2 vertical 4x4's with 1 4x4 cross rail. We attached a hand crank winch on each vertical post waist high and a roller overhead on the cross rail at each end. We used small cable rather than rope. We run the cables off the winches up over the overhead rollers and back down to the hangers. We later ran a tin roof off the side of the ATV shed over the skinning poles.

I live in the suburbs so an outdoor pole would freak out the neighbors. I just screwed a hook into the garage ceiling. I put a tarp under it to keep the floor clean.

Although I'm getting lazy and taking more deer to the processor.

I live in the suburbs as well, and hanging deer outdoors absolutely freaks out the neighbors. So much so, the HOA has passed an ordinance banning "the skinning and butchering of animals outdoors". So all my deer go to the processor. I still skin the occasional squirrel out on the back deck. ;)

I have a receiver hoist. But it's just for loading deer in the truck. Then it's straight to the processor. They have a huge walk in cooler and for $45 vacuum pack And cut how I want it. It's just hard for me to mess with them. Plus 99% of the time I'm tagged out before it gets cold. So if I do it myself I'm in a hurry.

And mine rotates and the crank lowers the deer into the bed. Most of the time with a big buck you have to lift the head and shoulders in the bed. But that's way better than loading it yourself, fact is its easer if you got help. To use the hoist anyway.
