I owned XT for a short time and now own the Reg SB. I prefer the Reg SB because it fit me better. I liked the Axle to Axle length. I felt more in control of the shot. Its all about what you are used to, draw was very similiar and speeds comparable. I am fairly old school, I remember when 42" A to A was short :)

I have to agree with bry2476.
Though I haven't shot the XT, I did have an '04 outback which has an ATA similar to it. Outback's ATA is 31.5" whereas the XT's ATA is 31.0".
I now shoot the Reg SB with the 33" ATA and don't want anything shorter than that. IMO the longer ATA gives me more control.

Here is how it broke down for me, and I have owned the Outback and now the regular Switchback.

The XT is a little smoother than the Outback and a little faster, aside from that they're the same bow, the XT is just on roids lol.

The original SWB is just as smooth as the XT in my opinion, just as quiet, shock free, etc. . To boot though, the original SWB is the fastest of the bunch and I believe the little longer ATA measurement makes it a little steadier, at least to me.

As others have said, the original Switchie is the one I ended up with simply because I thought it was the complete package

I sell both and both are very fine bows. I shoot an XT and found it a bit better than the regular and easier to tune--------but that's me. You need to shoot them both and find out which one will better for you. :darkbeer:

differences

There is no difference in quality, both the same manufacturer and high quality. As stated above, shoot both and see what fits your friend best. I also chose the Switchback over the XT, for 2 reasons. 1. The Switchback had already been out and had a solid history and 2. The string angle on the XT was too steep for me I would have had to change my anchor from my Apex 7 because it is such a short ATA on the XT.
