i apologize for the long post..... but today while shooting my inherited recurve the top limb decided it was sick of life and it wanted out so it blew up and smacked me in the face real good. i was very upset, and unsure why this happened. so i went to the store and picked up a new string for my other inherited recurve (never had a string for it) it is a pearson master mag (?) 40 pounds at 28 inches. it is a short little bugger at 52" amo. i was all set to hunt with the other recurve, but wasnt happy with the accuracy of it last year so i was practicing all year in anticipation when it went crazy on me. but it gets better, i picked up the little recurve, moleskinned the shelf, tied on the catwhiskers, moleskined the limb where the string makes contact and pulled it back, let er go and perfection was birthed. this little bow fits me like it was made just for me. i cant believe it. better accuracy than my 52 pounder by far. but my question is, will it be enough to kill a deer? i am shooting a 500 grain arrow out of it, is it going to kill a deer if i do my part? the only problem i have with it, is it has a little twang to it, how can i eliminate this? i guess its like nuge says, bows are like guitars and women, you gotta find one that fits.
