40# Recurve:
GT 3555 @ 30.5"
125 gn point
vanes(off rest+plunger)
401 total gn arrow
12.3 FOC

40# Longbow:
GT 1535 @ 30.0"
150 gn point
Feathers(off hand)
388 total gn arrow
18.3 FOC

Even though this is a trad site....Most here know compounds as well....

70# Compound
GT 7595 @ 29.5
175 gn Point
Vanes(Whisker Biscut)
532 total gn arrow

In what regard? If they tune and hit where you're aiming, they are right. I'm not a big fan of high FOCs, but if it works, don't mess with it. I'd like my arrows in the 9 gr/lb range or less IF POSSIBLE, but again, the proof is in the shooting. Sorry, no comment on the compound stuff ... :p

Pretty close...

I can vouch for the 40# recurve...sounds pretty close.
Compound...what is the draw length...with 175 up front you may be making that 7595 a little weak. 125 grains will be fine at the most. If you still want to stay in the 500+ grain relm then get some XX75 2315 aluminum shafts that is what I shoot, see signature.

The recurve is currently shooting GT Ultralight Entrada's spined at 500. They fly well and hit where I am looking(for the most part).
