The target face of that particular Morrell makes it prone to wearing out the center. I have a couple Outdoor Range Bags that are lasting well, but I pin on cardboard silhouettes of turkey or deer and move them around to spread out the wear. Back in the day when excelsior bales were the big thing in archery ranges and clubs, I shot several that had soft spots near the center where folks kept placing their target faces. Same thing with a blob.....you have to spread things out to prevent that from happening.

The Morrell

outdoor range and the Keep Hammerin' targets are what I use mostly. I've also used the Super Duper target and it does ok, but the other two last a lot longer and are bigger in size. I keep mine hanging outside all year long but covered.

Since that has the NASP scoring rings I'm gonna bet it is for light poundage (NASP) bows.

The bag's last much longer if they are hung up by the grommets are free to move. They absorb the impact of the arrows better and last much longer. My Morrell Super Duper target is about 5 years old and it has pretty much been abused and left out in the elements. I've put two covers on it and it is in need of another one. It will soon get taken to the landfill. The Keep Hammerin' target is one year old. It has been left outside under the cover I built for it. The outdoor range target is about 2 years old and it is at my private land in one of the openings to the barn. It stays dry and out of the weather. I leave it there for when I leave to hunt on the farm or on the Urban Hunt close by. It's about a 3 hour drive from my house and it's just easier to leave a target there to shoot while I'm staying with my parents. Typically, a Morrell Super Duper, Outdoor Range, or Keep Hammerin' target will last me 5+ years of daily shooting if I can keep it out of the elements.

Check out third hand archery for a 4x4ft diy target or a 3x3 one there great. The diy sportsman on YouTube has a good video showing how to build the stand. It’s super easy, n lasts pretty long when it’s got a cover. The best part is if u shoot out the center just re stuff tightly and staple on a new front. I used a couple old bag targets and random rags/clothes and mats to make mine. 30$ to buy replacement skins so yea cheaper than buying a whole new bag every year. I’ll try post a pic of mine.

I use the same one Alaska uses. The outdoor range. I have had mine for better than 5 years and replaced the cover once. Still solid. One big mistake most people do with bag targets is not hanging them by the top corners. If you don't you will take at least half the life out of them.

So I think I'm going to go with the Outdoor Range. Sounds like that'll be a safe bet. All of you have been so incredibly helpful. I'm going to hold off on ordering till next paycheck so I'm still open to any of your favorites! Hope everyone is having a fantastic Tuesday!
