I know that a snow and heavy rainstorm can get deer moving. Especially snow which gets deer out eating before the storm. But what about light rain and/or light snow. I know that deer will be out in it but does it make them move more than they normally would or is it just the same?
My assumption is, because of the barometric pressure changes that occur during times of precipitation, deer generally will tend move more during those hours.
Light rain or snow really isn't something that affects deer much IMO. They live outside and are used to this stuff more than we are. I've seen normal deer movement during all day sits in a light steady rain or snow.
Wind and heat is really the only thing I've noticed that makes a big change in deer movement. I missed the second biggest buck of my life during a snow storm because I got lazy thinking I wouldn't see anything and he snuck right up on me. Made a quick shot and missed.
