Does your hunting bow need to be in a camo pattern for hunting (as opposed to just a flat matte col?

Seems like most bow makers offer flat colors and then some different camo patterns. I was thinking of just getting a flat color so that it's generic instead of realtree, or gore or whatever.

Does it even matter?

Nothing more than aesthetics and personal preference, in my opinion. That said, some hunters feel a particular camo gives them an edge and in turn gives them confidence and confidence is the most important thing you can take to the woods so if a certain camo on your bow gives you confidence, don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Barring white i would say it doesn't matter too much. Black isn't natural looking in bright light to be honest. In lowlight situations black is fine though. I had an Xcentric with AP snow limbs on it and they glowed in the dark hardwoods at dusk. There were a few instances where I swear a deer saw just the white hanging there. I ended up spray painting that bow it bothered me so much.

I've only hunted with black bows for a LOT of years. I hang orange accessories off of them so they look spiffy. It's all about how you look.

My dad hunted in a red flannel shirt his entire life.... The best camo in the world won't help if you can't sit still and be quiet.

Pretty much as long as your bow isn't "reflective" it's sufficient to hunt with....

it doesn't matter, but i wouldn't hunt with a shiny bow or one in bright target colors (even if matte finish)....the bright colors would bug me

i think the solid colors are the nicest looking, plus the photo realistic camos (realtree, etc) keep changing every year and i personally don't like the look

i do like the look of the more classic, simple camos like woodlands or the kuiu patterns that don't seem to change as much

my current bow is gray riser and kuiu verde limbs

i really wanted a bowtech in full woodlands camo, but they discontinued it like 2 weeks before i ordered my bow...even called bowtech to confirm

And you damn well better be wearing long underwear in the same matching camo pattern.

You'll never kill anything unless the underwear match your bow camo.
someone should test whether wearing multiple camo patterns actually helps

i have matching stuff, but i just grab what is clean and on top of the pile

so, i'm usually rocking at least 2 camo patterns, it might break up your outline even more than matching head to toe

Right! And you never know when something might walk up on you and catch you with your pants down.

You'll see these guys online painting their faces, but will use solid colored bows. lol. At the end of the day, I can't imagine any of that makes a difference.

I paint my face, but I don't get carried away and try to be awesome looking with it. Just some black or brown or green stripes to break up my white moon of a face LOL
