yep. done dirty. moved 200 miles to take a job for them. gave up alot to move up here. went to some meetings in utah and when i got back the terminated me. you probaly asking why they fire you???? for sending emails through their "intranet" to another manager in another store. they called it time theft???? i worked on salary???? talking to another sportsmans warehouse which is supposed to be ok. BUT it had bass pro shops with a possiable interview, and cabela's with a possiable interview. nobody ever said that they were leaving the company. guess i hurt their poor feelings.

so here i am looking and waiting. watching the old account get lower and lower. bass pro is still not decided. nobody is decided.

thought about unemployment but its just going to be enough. trying to think of what to do in this situation but im thinking about trying to get out of this lease and go back to where there is some better bowfishing and deerhunting. more 3-d also. not much work there though

What type of material were you sending to the other manager?

Was this a manager of another Sportsmans Warehouse or a competitor?

it was another manager for sportsmans warehouse. it was casual emails. no attachments, nothing.
Did it pertain to business...or pleasure...

bussiness. nothing for "pleasure". yes i am friends with other managers. so there are friendly conversations. for example "hey how much did you guys do saturday, we did around $72,000".

the worst thing in any of it was. "cabela's is coming to town and they are doing interviews", "go ahead and get the exp it cant hurt anything. it will help you give interviews as well as do them",

Sounds like the IT dept was intercepting your e-mails and advised the manager which in turn did not like the idea of you discussing the financial aspects with another manager of another store. So which in turn you were terminated.

its just ran by a bunch of "KIDS". most managers are not even old enough to buy beer. so they have huge ego problems. customers might not catch on right away. but i bet if your on here you have FORGOT more than they know

I actually interviewed with the new SW here and it seemed to be well run. They knew their stuff and we talked for a long time.

Sounds like you just caught a dose of bad luck. Hope it all works out.

File for unemployment as soon as you can get to the office - some states let you do it online. Companies pay money to cover unemployment. Don't walk away from money you have coming your way. You never know how long it might take to get that next job and if you run out of funds you'll sure as heck wish you'd taken time to file. There's usually a 2 week waiting period before you can start to collect and the clock on that starts running when you file - not when you got canned. Many years ago I was merged out of a job. I did not file, interviewed and soon had the promise of another job - but it was pushed back and back (the offer was always going to be 'next week' but a corporate officer sat on the paperwork) until I finally could not wait any longer and I filed. As soon as I could start collecting the job came through so I never collected a dime. I missed out on some money that could have made a difference.

Also, never use corporate assets for things that are not your job duties and do not directly benefit the corporation unless you get permission to do so (preferably in writing). That means that even if you are on your time do not use their computer for your personal business. Or their phone. Etc.

I'm not attacking you or anything, I'm just saying in this particular store the guys weren't babies and they seemed to be knowledgeable.

I've been through PSE Dealer School myself, and although I'm not an expert, I can work on my own equipment and know a couple of things.

I sincerely hope something comes along :darkbeer:

im sorry i was not clear on who knows what. there are some that do know product knowledge. but it is very limited. they know pretty much what they carry. they do not know how actual bussiness is ran. they dont know how the products that get to them get to them and why that product and not some other. i bet you can go to 5 out 6 hourly archery guys (not the manager) and ask him what a paradox is and he will not be able to awnser.

Im pretty sure you CANNOT collect unemployment when youve been fired. Only when laid off.

You can collect if canned, but the company can and usually will contest. Then you have an arbitrator that will decide if you get it or not, in the in-term you get your unemployment.

Hey RiverShark, What store did you work at,, just curios, As It seems that there is more to the story. I know some people that work at the local Sportsmans and when its slow they are on the PC reading this that and the other. Just wondering????????????????????????????
