Does anyone have any experience with the Drake NonTypical line of clothing? Looks like a good value, but I'm curious to see how warm and quiet their products are. Any input on any of their items would be appreciated

The silencer stuff is quiet. Sitka Fanatic quiet. Laid hands on it at a nearby store, have been watching for a sale since and will be getting the bibs and jacket. It doesn't have as much of the carpet texture as the fanatic, but it's way quieter than the stratus.

It’s nice stuff as long as you don’t pay full price for it. I like to try and buy it at the end of year sales. Got a full outfit for 50% off a few years ago at Dicks(back when they still sold outdoors gear). Good quality stuff in my opinion. I am also of the opinion a person does not have to spend $1K+ on hunting clothes.

That is when I bought my bibs and coat, it may have been the last year they sold the Drake stuff in the stores
I was comfy with 10 degrees snowing and windy in the tree back in November

So far, everything I've tried, or tried on. The savanna aero stuff, thevoyage was nice, though i didn't buy. Wore a pair of the voyage pants on a cool weather dove hunt (a lot of walking after shooting birds) and they are nice. The revanent pro has yet to be tested, but it seems nice out of the package (that half price sale was nice). Have heard plenty of good things about the divergent and fortress, have a divergent jacket on the way. Windbrace set, used duck and elk hunting, comfortable and quieter than the stratus, and didnt get wet in a decent 2 hour rain. Also have a pair of pants that i dont remember the model, will look up the serial number later. Any temp above 50 if active or 65 sitting still and I start roasting my walnuts. Wore them as the only layer down to 40 in 30mph wind and no baselayer with zero issue.

I have various other brands of clothes for hunting. Various Scentlok, will have the drake silencer set (heavyweight), 3 pairs of first lite pants, a stika traverse hoody, and nomad harvester set and merino hoody will round out my gear for hunting 4 legged critters long term. Some of that will crossover to my duck hunting, and ill also have the academy branded Magellan Pro Jacket (already in the closet) when my current duck jacket loses its loft and warmth (4 years and still going strong, so it might be a while).

I’ve had a couple of the insulated pants and jacket sets. It’ll work in the south ie: Mississippi with base layers. If you’re in the Midwest, you’ll freeze. It’s not windproof at all. It’s dead silent though. It’d be a good mid season set. The pants won’t withstand much abrasion such as briars, Atleast mine didn’t.

In my years of hunting, I started out wearing Scent-Lok, and wore it for Years. Then Tried Element Outdoors, but made the switch to all Drake 3 years ago. Everything that I have from Drake Waterfowl, Non Typical, and Ol Tom fit me great. From the early season stuff to the late season stuff, it has held up for me. From Indiana and I mostly Stand and Blind hunt for whitetails, Turkey hunting is a little bit of everything. As stated above, join the mailing list and get notice of the sales as they happen. If you need any more info, send me a DM

The stuff is good and enjoy each piece I have. I think each piece is for a specific situation though. None of mine is great against wind, which is the only thing that really makes me cold now-adays. But, it’s effective and the pockets show common sense

I live in south Georgia and I’m also interested in Non Typical camo. I’m trying to decide if it is worth it at a discount or sale price compared to first lite or Stika. Sitka and Fist Lite is just so expensive.

I have the endurance lightweight stuff and silencer heavyweight gear. I really like it, especially the stand hunter heavyweight jacket with the pass through in the back for harness and padding in back for leaning against a tree. The only thing I wish was better was wind resistance, although I think they have newer stuff than what I have that is windproof. All the pockets are nice to have and many hunts I loaded up my coat and bibs with my gear and left my bag in the truck.

I bought a bunch of it last year and used it. I bought it for being lightweight and packable for the hikes back. I am selling a bunch of it in the classifieds but keeping several pieces as well that I didn’t list. My wife got me some Scentlok pieces for Christmas so I am going to use them this fall for whitetail but will use the Drake stuff I’m keeping for everything else. I agree though most of it is not real wind resistant. However I do have the Hydrohush jacket and bibs I’m selling that we’re awesome against the wind. I got the saddle hunter suit which is also windproof so I don’t need 2 outfits like that
