I don't know about the ones to steer clear of, but I'd also consider the Trophy Taker drop away. Simple to install, easy to adjust, and available w/ micro-adjust (horizontal and vertical) as well.

Trophy Taker is the one everyone tries to copy. Go with the best, Trophy Taker.

Can't go wrong with the GKF TKO, it is a bulletproof rest, simple, quick and easy to adjust. Great price on probably the most efficient dropaway out there.

I have tried the Golden Key TKO also and am pleased with the results. I feel it's one of the most versitile rest on the market because of the different ways it can be set up.

Drop Away

A normal Spring supported rest.

Install the Premo launcher and tighten the spring for a great target rest. (I believe the chrome models come with the Premo launcher.)

No other rest on the market can do this.

The TKO is the best deal on a rest. You can shoot it either way and its SOLID. I am going to be using mine at the IBO worlds shoot next week!

Legacy

I shot the Trophy Taker on mine all year last year. Great rest and proven winner time and time again.

Here's another vote for GKF's TKO rest! I own one and I'm totally impressed by it!

Another really great dropaway rest is the GKF Mirage. I have one on my hunting bow. It is an extremely well made rest and has a really good arrow pickup system.

Here are some great rests - check them all out & see what you like the best.

Dropzone
Trophy Taker Shakey Hunter
GKF TKO
NAP Quiktune 2000 & 4000
Muzzy Zero Effect

try all of them then pick the best one for you & your setup!

If I were to buy another drop away rest, i would buy the Muzzy Zero Effect. I've tried several others and the Muzzy seems to stand out in my mind. Yes, it is a little more challenging to setup, but with the big hook it's great for hunting.

I own both the Trophy taker and the GKF Mirage drop away.
The Trophy taker is a very solid rest. I have owned one for
over 2 years and have had absolutly no problems with it.
On the other hand I have had the GKF Mirage since this
spring. I and a few others I shoot with have had some
problems like the rest breaking in between the U shaped
cradle and the mounting block with bolts to the bow.
We also have had problems the wire that bings the arrow
up. It's not very solid at all, it can slide around over time.
And the windage ajustment comes loose very quickly.

I would go with the Tropy Taker Shakey hunter
