Buck Tarsal Gland

Try some buck tarsal gland lure in a dripper. It's an all around scent for bucks as they make scrapes all year long, but not as much as during the rut. It would be too early for a "rutting buck" lure as testosterone levels aren't up yet.

The trick to drippers is to hang them about 15 feet in the air, so the buck won't smell the scent coming from above his head.

Also, some plain "doe urine". I once saw a doe urinating and as soon as she was done, a nice 10 pointer came from downwind...put his nose in the puddle and "lip curled". I don't know if it was the sound of her urinating or the scent. This was on the first day of Pa archery season too. (nowhere near the rut)
