Just got my new Cobalt's and I noticed small tick marks at each end of each shaft. It looks like someone ground a small 1/16-inch diameter spot through the anodizing. I've never seen these marks on the nock end of an arrow before.

I'm not complaining but I'm curious as to why they're there. Does anyone know?

Those marks have been on new X-7's for as long as I can remember.

I always thought that was were they were held during the dipping process. Just a thought.

My black X-7's have them on the point end but not the nock end too. The Cobalt's have them on both ends.
