My guess would aurally be vice versa. Drop Axis and run with the 5.0 and the sonics.

Awesome, thanks for posting! Very cool. I’ll definitely be building a dozen of these with the same components as my axis build. Don’t get me wrong, I love my 550 grain freight trains, but the same FOC minus the extra shaft weight?? Can’t wait.

Anyone know why they can’t do a standard insert with 5mm? HITs you run the chance of glueing in the wrong spot. Half outs have had their own share of issues. Why not a standard?

About time Easton replaced the freight train Axis 5mm.

That 300 spine is going to be a hot seller at 8.4gpi!!! Hope it maintains same toughness and durability as the Axis 5mm.

 

If these are priced better than the new Victory arrows I may have to give them a try.

 

Curious what the price is going to be. Gold Tip has had the Airstrike and Black Label Quantum for several years which is basically what this is. The GT BL Quantum 300 spine is 8.3 GPI. I've shot them for 3 years and they have flown great and have been very durable!

 

I'm excited!! It's about time they came out with a lighter 5mm. The GPI is right on point.

The only thing I would have changed honestly would have been making the HIT a 30 grain hardened steel. Nothing fancy. This would fix any weak point I could identify.

 

Check out Podium Archer or Ethics for those, both look good!

I googled "Easton 2025" and first result was Easton website listing new products for the year. Almost like they wanted someone to find them. I feel used

The 5.0 looks like a great arrow, I’d buy some if they are less than $200/dozen. Anybody have pricing info?

 

I'll likely buy the match grade and use the included Easton collar if it's less expensive than buying standard grade plus buying Iron Will collars. I don't like buying extra components if I don't have to (i.e. I use standard HIT inserts), but I do like using collars with HIT for added weight and durability.

 

I'm personally not a fan of offering different components but only if you buy the higher straightness. They should offer them with both grades of arrow.

 

These look great, but I think the Victory HLR may have them beat. Love that the HLR comes with a collared stainless component. As much as I like the Easton match grade components, their aluminum is a bit fragile.

i’ve talked to several Archery and hunting companies about this as Intel as my business and they have for years been well behind the power curve in protecting their products. I don’t have a dog in the fight and like as much as the next guy to find out new information quickly. I just know this was not supposed to have been released this morning. It is NOT the OP’s fault to have come across it as he was simply Google searching, just stating it was not meant for the public at this time and he found a secret stash of new coolness.

 

I shoot both Easton 5.0 400 spines and Gold Tip Pierce 300 spines when target shooting. Shot the GT's last hunting season but I'll be shooting the Easton's this year and see how it goes.
