Easton 5.0 - Easton Archery
About time Easton replaced the freight train Axis 5mm.

I used to shoot Victory arrows but found them to be brittle and not durable. So, I've been using Easton arrows exclusively for the last few years and really like how they perform.I’ve shot the axis 260 for several years now. The last two years I’ve taken a few deer with some rip TKO 250s. Probably close to 50 deer/elk kills wiIth the axis. I can remember one arrow that has broken. 4 deer with the rip tko and 2 have broken. Both are great arrows in their own way. In terms of durability and strength on the 260 axis versus 250 rip TKO, I don’t think it’s even close at that spine. My axis will go on every elk trip. Both setups with 50 g hit inserts and iron wheel collars.
Love the idea of something in between the two though. I still like the rip tko for deer and goats. The axis 260 vs tko 250 though is apples to oranges.
MG says hit and MG collar are included. Material of the HIT is irrelevant as the point aligns to the front edge of the shaft/impact collar. Because there’s almost no length to bend on the collar, they might be fine being aluminum, but if they bend, steel collar should fix it. I’ll rather use the saved weight to potentially move into heavier BH.These are definitely a needed upgrade. Looks like the match grade will come with more of a half out. Would have loved to see a hardened hit and collar
Victory came about because of an old Goldtip manufacturing facility that wasnt being used anymore and yes the Axis is the oldest .204 out there but Goldtip has had the Airstrike for 6+ year that is 8.3gpi in a 300 spine and the Quantum is an Airstrike but a .0025 not a .001 straightness.I’m not a fan of an arrow brand, but it’s copying because they make a 5mm in similar GPI? Victory has been in that market for years. Easton, around 2 decades ish with the axis?
Probably just dropped the aramid fiber layer in the Axis. Just like they did when the Injexion became the Axis Long Range. .I'm curious of the durability as well. I wonder how they decreased the GPI vs the Axis 5mm
I must have miss read. This was the photo I was going off of.MG says hit and MG collar are included. I believe they launched there Match Grade Half Outs for the 5mm, they had them for 4mm. From all the media I have seen, my understanding the match grade come with the HIT Insert and Collar and the normal will just be the HIT insert.I must have miss read. I can’t seem to find these on their website…, only the 4mm version. I may have to try these out!!!I must have miss read. This was the photo I was going off of. View attachment 8205331

Sirius does make a decent product but, something about not being able to buy them at the local store whenever you need to doesn't sit well with me.I’ll just stick with my 250 spine Sirius Gemini at 8.68 gpi with 50 grain Podium titanium half out!!!
Hit and an iron will collar. I’ve messed around with a lot of different set ups, and these are by far the most durable. I haven’t noticed any difference on using the 50 grain brass hits from Easton or the iron will steel hits.
Shoot id like to try those MG 5mm halfouts
I haven’t been able to buy anything lately at a local store…. Seems like every Archery manufacturer is slacking!! Arrows; Broadheads; etcSirius does make a decent product but, something about not being able to buy them at the local store whenever you need to doesn't sit well with me.
