I recently started using some axis 5mm arrows. I know these have been around forever. Do you guys recommend the broadhead adapter rings with broadheads or am I OK without them? I like the looks and weight of the HIT collar, but every version seems to be a million dollars. I'm not into adding 50-100 to a dozen arrows to protect them when shooting 1 or 2 into a deer. I'd rather scrap 1 or 2 arrows. That being said if there were some on the market that were reasonable I would jump on them. I'm strongly considering the bar tho.

I use 5MM Axis and FMJ’s. Been using them for years. Never have used a collar or a BAR. They work just fine with HIT inserts and no BAR.

I have shot with the bars and without. No noticeable difference for me. The collars are cool, but I don't see any need for them on deer.
I shoot axis 5mm and use the bar collars. Do I need them no, but I would like to think they add a touch more structural integrity to the setup. Also nice the broad head ferrule is not protruding.
I bought the iron will collars, this allows me to just use a standard head. That said I think they are worth it. Haven’t shot into anything yet so no reports on durability but they seem quality. I would definitely recommend glueing them even thoigh they don’t have to be
The iron will impact collars are worth it buy a half dozen and you'll be good. If you break a shaft on an animal you'll still recover the collar.
