Easton flatline insert?

Ive got a pack of flatline 340's and am having trouble getting the inserts to fit. Seems like the inserts are the wrong size or something. You can put the insert in the shaft and it wiggles around a little. If you push the insert to one side while in the shaft there is a lip on the other side, like the insert and shaft are two different diameters. I called easton and they said there is only one size of the micro lite insert. Seems like there might possibly be a defect in the shaft or the insert maybe? Ive owned several doz flatlines and never had a problem like this before. Thoughts?

i do, when i get off work i will pull the insert out of one of those and compare. great idea thanks! its a weird deal, i told the guy at easton i wanted to send them to him so their qa team could take a look at them and he told me i needed to exchange them at bass pro.

They're not .246, they're .244.
The Easton CB inserts can be used instead of the micro light insert.
