What is the difference between the g nock and the deep six nock ...., is one better than the other or is there no difference

Their are 2 different g nocks. A long throat and a short throat. I shot the short throat for a while until finding the Deep 6 nock. The long throat has about 3/32 longer throat than the short throat and weighs 8 grains if memory serves me. The short throat weighs 6.8-7 grains if memory serves. The deep 6 has the same length throat as the g short, but the length from the throat to nock shouder is about a 16th - 3/32 shorter and they weigh 5.8 grains. Firenock is about to release a g sized nock ("size 0") that should be smaller than the deep 6 and weighs 4-5 grains.

Just for clarity for OP
The primary difference between the two g nocks is based on throat diameter for different serving sizes......the length does happen to be different, but you buy based on serving diameter (.098 vs .088), not length.
The new deep6 is the .098 lg groove (same as the orig .098 g nock) but with a much shorter body.
I miss the old micro g nocks.

IMO, I like the deep6 version. As stated, they do not deflect on the shot as much......and they take a beating from other arrows impacting.

I shot g nocks for a few years and then I saw the deep six nocks at the lancaster booth last year and I bought some, to me they are way better than a standard g nock. They are exactly the same except for the fact that there is almost 1/8 inch less plastic from where it bottoms out on the bushing to the throat of the nock.

They do not shoot the same as a g nock, I think they have way less flex in them as the bow fires and they have at least 1.5 to 2 inche different poi. I really think they are a upgrade and not just a choice, I am waiting to get some of the new gold tip g nocks that they are going to offer this year and make my final decision for what I use this year and it will either be the deep six or gold tip.

I'm interested to see the GT g nock as well!
For a comparison, here are the nocks in relation to each other.

Nismomike is correct, the soon to be release Firenock "G" is going to be 4.04 grins. Below is a picture of it with and without a lighted circuits, battery and end cap. Unlike the other G nock in the market which can only hand 0.1665" which is the Deep six or the 0.166 the original G/Bohning F; it is also design to fit as perfect as it can into the 0.165" VAP/BE/Muddy/Deer crossings. It has a 0.0015" compression ability.

Easton did recommend that I use the deep six nock on my ac injexion arrows ... They did say that they were built for today's bows and they only come in the .98 grove opening because most of the strings today have a higher strand count ......

That is correct. To make things worst, is that many bow company like Mathews, Martin use serving size as thick as 0.136", the G nock larger grove is 0.098" while the smaller grove is only 0.088" That is close to 40% and 50% larger respectively. Firenock "G" nock is meant for 0.110"-0.115" to be ideal with max ability to hold 0.125". Throat control is THE MOST IMPORTANT of an arrow consistency and release.

I was using G-Nocks on my Carbon Injexion shafts. Out of my D340, 70lbs, 30.25" draw I was breaking the nocks afterseveral shots. This resulted in "semi-dry fire" situations that caused me to replace the string a couple of times. I switched to the Deep Six nocks, which are the nocks that Easton recommends for "speed" bows, and I have not had any nock breakage since. I find that the POI at long distances (out to 100 yards) is very small or non-existent. I use them exclusively now in my hunting rig.

What about these Easton nocks from way back ? Still have a few for my ACC's that I am thinking of resurrecting. I love the fact they are short. At the time the old timers were telling is that the longer nocks would "bend" occasionally causing "flyer".
Anyways, wish they were still available
