I bought a new Answer in 2012 and it has been my hunting bow ever since. Recently, I had the opportunity to pick up a like new, 2013 Answer for $300.00. Figured it would be a good backup.
I built a new set of strings for it, set it up, tuned it and the results are, the 2012 will be my new backup. Wow! This “new” bow is just awesome!

My first Elite bow was an Answer which I bought based on their reputation for smooth draw cycles. Had it a while then bought a Hunter model and liked it so much more I sold the Answer and bought a second Hunter. Sure are nice!!!! If I had bought a second Answer, I wouldn't have worried a bit--they are nice bows too.

Hey OP....the pics you posted are of a 2012 Answer. 13's had Cerakote on the cams, limb pockets, STS rod and cable rod. 12's had black cams and camouflaged pockets & rods...the risers are also cut slightly different. Either way, they are both fantastic.

Yes, you are right. The place I bought it from had it lasted as a ‘13. There was not a mark on the bow, the draw weight and draw length were perfect for me. All it needed was new threads, and I’m a string builder, so I feel I still got a steal at $300.00!
That’s why I won’t sell my Pure, my other Answer, my XLR...you practically have to give them away! I will save them for the kids and grand kids!

The Elite Answer is a smooth, forgiving, tack-driving, critter killing machine. My son has one, I don't think he will ever part with it.
Great looking rigs, congrats!
Yes, it is one of the best all time, all around hunting bows I have shot! Probably why I can’t seem to part with it.
Was going to buy a Ritual this spring, then this bow came along. I really feel I saved $650.00 and got a bow that is nearly the equal!

I had a 2012 Answer. The cams would absolutely eat cables but Elite replaced them. I had to shim to get it to tune, but once I did that, I have to admit that it was a real dream to shoot. That feeling that you almost had to push it to get it to release was special. Not regretting I moved on, but not going to bash a nice bow either.

I have been shooting Elite since I bought my ‘08.5 XLR. The first thing I usually do is swap out the cable slides. I have found that the ones by First String work great on all of my Elites. No unusual cable wear whatsoever.

as I recall, the wear was by the cams, especially the upper cam
