I recently bought a brand new Elite GT500 but I do not know if it is a 08.5 or a 09 bow. How can you tell the difference for certain?

i believe the serial number somehow determines what year it is.
i am sure if you contact elite they can tell you.

I think I have this right....

if the serial number starts with 013 or 014 it's an 08.5
if the serial number starts with 075 it's an 09

Don't quote me, but I think the '09's serial number starts with a 75----.

Ok now I am even more confused. My serial number is 750994 and the manual that came with it says it is a 2008.5

Mine did.

There seems to be a transition period for them where they were getting the correct spacers (problem with the early 08.5s I've heard- mine didn't have the issue) and still had the Next G1 camo and 08.5 manuals but the speed card said "2009"

You have a '09 bow...with that serial number. Mine is the same, but also came with the manual that says 08.5.

The serial number is the key, and most of the 09 bows had 6 rubber speed nocks (12 total) in place of the regular brass ones. The camo bows also had camo limb pockets and camo string stopper.
