Success!!!!!! I'll try to get the whole story and more pictures online soon. It was an absolutely incredible week of hunting. I was within 100 yards of about 20 different bulls over the course of five days. Unfortunately, I blew some opportunities on a couple of monsters.

I have wound pictures. This is my first elk.

Here is one picture. It was a 45 yard shot. The bull ran 60 yards and died in about 10 seconds. It is a small 4x4. I shot him in New Mexico. The arrow went through the shoulder and buried to the fletching. It took out the lungs and much more inside. As he ran, the broadhead cut a huge (4 or 5 inch) swath through the opposite side of his rib cage.

Nice elk. Any elk with a bow is a trophy.

cool. Nice hat.. Do you guide for USO?

I would doubt that. This is his first elk. Although he may guide other critters instead of elk I suppose.
