Just wanted to give a shout out to Dale Perry and Evolution Outdoors for designing the Evolution Hyde. I shot a big Alberta Black Bear this spring with a Hyde 100 gr. The 25 yd shot from a ground blind was quartering away slightly, entered center of the rib cage and exited through the opposite leg. The arrow passed through and continued more than 50 yds beyond the bear. I would have never found the arrow had it not been for the lighted nock. The bear expired less than 50 yds from spot of impact. I realize that any broadhead will kill with a double lung hit, however, I was extremely impressed with the size of the entry and exit holes. Also very impressed that the arrow passed through, seemingly with little loss of energy. In addtion, these broadheads group with field tips from a well tuned bow. I have confirmed this out to 40 yds so far and will continue testing at longer range soon. Shooting a Hoyt RX8 Ultra, 29.5" draw @ 67 lbs. 476 grain arrow build: 300 spine Gold Tip Airstrike, Nocturnal nock, 75 gr. HIT insert, ballistic collar, and 100 gr Evolution Hyde broadhead.
