I'm new to this and i didn't feel like reading the rule book manual. I'm 17 and i was wondering what age group i would shoot in and also whats a good score shooting 70m in F.I.T.A.

  • FITA age classifications are based on year of birth with results in your age at the end of the calendar year. When were you born? That will determine if this is your last year as a junior or if you have 2010 also.
  • Good scores are relative. They result from good form, training, coaching, skills, coachablility, as well as tuned equipment. With all in place, there can be sustainable “good scores”
  • “Good scores” are one think in your back yard and another thing at a world championship.
  • Wind is a key factor. Scores then become more of a comparison across the competition field.
  • FITA is also focused on 12 arrow head to head match play so you will hear a lot about 110s vs 115s for a 70 meter match.
  • Most want to break 300 for 36 arrows at 70 M. An average score of 9 for 36 arrows is 324, not shabby. The tops stay in the gold 9 and 10 for the most part, a goal for most as they move up the ranks.
