Thinking on getting my lady a new bow. She's shooting a parker challenger currently, and getting 180 FPS at 38 lbs. She can easily move up to 40 lbs but her bow gets squirely when its maxed. I was thinking of a Matthews Mustang, but was curious to know what others pulling 40 lbs were shooting and what speeds they were getting.

I have seen some pretty good speeds out of the Bowtech Equalizer. I would also look into that Elite Ice and see if it is available in 40lbs.

Bowtechs are quick, but might want to check out what Newberry has to offer. They have some sweet bows, and they are all fast. Good luck.

My wifes o5 bowtech constitution (very forgiving bow) is doing 273 with 650 carbontech cheta,s 28" draw. If she is a shorter draw the equalizer is a great bow for shorter draw lengths.

Baby Bow here. No , that is not my hunting set up. I will be working on that in the next few weeks. That is my 3D set up. The Equalizer is a sweet bow. I love it. You should have her shoot one if you can get a hold of one. I was only pulling 36 pounds before I got her and had not problem pulling the heigher poundage with this bow.

When I was looking for a new bow I shot the mustang. For me I felt like it wanted to jump out of my hand. The Equalizer just sits there, you shoot it and it just sits in your hand. It is the most amazing bow. There is not shock, no vibration, super quiet. She needs to try out the different bows that there is out there so she gets what fits her best but I would not shoot anything else but the BowTech Equalizer right now.

I am in the midst of buying a new bow for my son. I have run all the options on the software and the Mathews Prestige is the absolute hands down smoker. The second is the Martin Shadowcat and then the Bowtech Equalizer. At 30# and a 22" draw the Prestige willpush 190, Shadow 170, and the Equalizer 160, the Hoyt Lasertech right behind. These are with all variables even relative to arrow and peep... I have inquired about the Prestige and the numbers are realistic to actual speeds. I was just really surprised that there was that much difference.

Just ran "On Target" for a 40# 24" 245 grain arrow 6 grain/inch.

Bowtech Equalizer 205
Mathews Prestige 243
Martin Shadow cat Magnum 226
Various Hoyts about 226 also.

After that info you need to check the weight and feel of the bow to your likes. This is not opinion. Download the software and check it for yourself. It seemed odd to me but I have asked and spec calculated and the software is on the money to what people are getting. If you are going to customize strings then that would be a constant increase to all bows.

My Pro Elite is a 24 /12 in. draw. I shoot my Equalizer at a 25 inch draw. I have no problem with that. I am getting 262 fps with my set up. I think that is pretty darn good. I am only pulling 41 pounds with it but I am about to up that a couple of pounds. Speed should even be better.
