Fat Boys

I love my fat boys for target shooting, but they are very brittle. I can just see the effect when the broadhead hits the offside shoulder. Plus, broadhead design is suited to a skinnier shaft. The base of your broadhead won't be as large as the shoulder on your insert. Penetration will suffer.

The BH blades make the hole so shaft size won't matter on game ONLY on targets IMO. Sure more mass in a smaller point will have more penetration but not when tipped with the same BH. I hear a lot of people say the smaller arrows penetrate deeper but they are usually talking about foam targets. and they are not made of meat and bone. I use to use 2412's and blew thru pigs and deer with em' and had a friend that used 2512's (because they were so light and stiff back in the day and he had no problems. If, they are brittle that’s different but I'm not up on that.

Okay any suggestions for an all around arrow-target, hunting and 3d. I currently use Beman ICS 400's. Overall they have worked out pretty well but I dont believe they are the best.
The ICS 400s are a great all around arrow. I used them for years. They are not the straightest target arrows made but they are probably straighter than I can shoot them if you know what I mean. My last dozen lasted me a long time.

The Easton acc's are another great choice. They are pricier but I have found them to be a very tough hunting arrow and a great target and 3-d arrow.

For me this year it will be acc's for 3-d and target and XX78 2413's for hunting.

CarbonTech Whitetail
Gold Tip Pro Hunters
PSE Cross Weaves

Those three stand out in my mind as "most versital"(sp?)... Not the lightest, not the heaviest, not the skinniest or fattest,... but all three will work for hunting, target, and 3D.

DO NOT!!!! The thin walls will bust and the carbon will runthrough the deer and will kill anything that eats it. Use easton Full Metal Jacket

All around arrow

When I found ACC 3-49's I stop looking for arrows. I have used them for 3D and have done pretty well with them. They will be in the field this year.
And accurate they are my fletchings don't seem to last long.
Gotta stop shooting so many onto my 3D targets.
