Favorite Bino Harness?

What’s your favorite bino harness and why?

I used a friends Kuiu harness (L size) and liked it but my Nikon Prostaff 7s (8x42) would not fit without collapsing them to the narrowest eye position. I also would like a place for my rangefinders.

I’m looking at the the Alaska Guide Creations Classic Chest pack…my concern is: is it too big for bow hunting?

I have an FHF, Marsupial and an AGC. I have used them all a lot for out west spot & stalk hunting. I prefer the AGC as for me it’s more user friendly and more comfortable. I always carry a pistol in a Razco holster as well and it seems to distribute the weight better than the other two. I found it harder to get my binos out of the Marsupial on a stalk or if I left the lid open then they sometimes fell out. The FHF & AGC I can leave the strap unhooked and not have those issues. That’s just my experience but they are all good quality

I have an older Alaska Guide Creations harness and picked up the Marsupial No Mag Enclosed harness this year. I like the Marsupial a little bit more. It's a little more streamlined and I think the forward opening is more intuitive.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of the modern day harnesses. The biggest question I'd answer is do you want it to open to the front or open towards the back.

Marsupial Gear... well-thought out, well-built, multiple compatible accessories, simple yet functional and effective and made in America.

I use a FHF Chest Harness with the bino bucket. I can fit my BX-4 pro 8x42 and my range finder inside the chest harness and still have room for other stuff without issue. The only thing that can be a hassle is the zipper closure. I knew that when I bought it, so it’s not a big deal for me.

....and another for Marsupial - besides being able to get the size you need and fit and finish is great, i like the side pockets for cheater glasses, arrow lube, wrenches, etc.. add a range finder pack on tha side, or add a pistol holster on the bottom - its just very user friendly, versatile, and comfortable

I've tried Badlands, AGC, Kuiu, and a few minimalist style bino holders, and plan to give Marsupial a try. The Kuiu has been my favorite so far as it holds the binos up on my chest much further than any of the others. I just don't like how it opens, I always snag my binos on the lid as I'm trying to get them out. Lid always pops back over the edge even with the tethers loosened. I already have the Marsupial rangefinder pouch and love how the lid opens. I think Marsupial is going to be the one I like the best from what I've seen so far.

I have an Alaskan Guide. My 8x42 fit a little sloppy, 10x42 fit nice. I wish it opened front instead of back. Also it’s not water proof. If our in the rain, it will soak through and get binos wet. Also the material is very loud. On a calm day, I feel like a kid opening a candy wrapper in a library. Every touch to it makes that hard canvas rub noise. I like the string/ hook closure very easy to operate one handed. I’m actively looking for an alternative myself.

Maybe you should contact Alaskan and tell them it leaked water bad. Supposed to be way more durable than that.

I have experience with Kuiu Pro, Outdoor Vision, Marsupial, and the regular Vortex ones. Kuiu isn't bad at all. Your binos not fitting has to do with either the wrong size harness or the wrong number of pads in the bottom to fit your binos. It's easy for 1 handed operation and streamlined. The downside to Kuiu is their rangefinder pouch. The lid does NOT open away from you and is floppy and in the way. The best all-around system for binos and rangefinder is either Marsupial or Outdoor Vision. They're both easily operated one-handed, have quiet magnetic openings, and are smaller in profile. I think Marsupial has the edge for other accessories so they offer with their entire system. The Outdoor Vision is in my opinion the best for treestand hunting. It is nearly identical to the Marsupial, except the lid for the binos is its own little compartment or pocket that will hold a phone, snacks, release, or anything else small-moderate in size. Both of their rangefinder pouches open away from you with magnetic attachments to keep them open. Can't go wrong with either IMO. The Vortex one is better than no harness, but that where its advantages stop.

Here's a picture of the OV one opened in the stand with the lid I mentioned.

I've had the AGC Cub and the MAX. I'm noy using a Mystery ranch that I found marked down at Scheels for $35. I grabbed it for a spare, but decided to try it first.
I gave the AGC to friend and the MR is my primary.
My range finder fits in the front pocket and I added an admin pouch to the bottom that holds my digiscoping adaptor and "survival" gear.
The AGC's were nice and I liked them but the MR is more compact and I can get it to sit up higher.
One of these days I'll try a Marsupial, but for now I'm content.

I researched this heavily last spring and came down to the Marsupial and Kuiu. Went with Kuiu due to the weight difference, Kuiu is lighter. Went with the XL to fit my Maven 12x50s and have been more than happy. Only complaint is the front pocket that is so tight it barely fits a piece of paper, let alone a finger to get it back out!.
