I am wanting to get some good pictures of some whitetails in velvet. I have built a couple pvc feeders but wonder would corn work better or some kind of salt or deer cocaine.
I am not going to use this to hunt over, just to get some pics and video of deer before it gets dark. Trying to intice them to come out a little early. Does anyone have any sugestions?
i would use corn--it sometimes takes deer a long time to start using a salt/mineral station. You'll get faster results with the corn. just find a good trail and put it out!
Also screw some jars of peanut butter to a tree and cut the bottom out of the jar.... once they find it they will go crazy over and fight for it--good video material
corn!!!!!
i put out about 5 feeders in different areas on different properties on trails and the deer hit them within the first few days!
now i go back every week and a half or two to refill them..
CORN, CORN, CORN!! It is the best no doubt! I'll put it out in a new place and the start right away. I'm sure it is the smell. Of course we have some agriculture around. My problem right now is the dern hogs. We been trapping them, shooting them and everything else...they are destroying our 35 acres that we planted. I was hoping to be able to put it in the siloh to feed all next yr. wonder if there will be enough left?
