I'm not really one to do this. But you should check out the 3D sub forum and do a search. TONS of info in there.

Is this a local fun shoot, or a more serious shoot?

Fun for me. I think about being more serious, but the last time I shot a tourney was 25 years ago, while I was in my teens.
I only retuned to shooting within the last couple of months, but I figure what the heck, I won't learn without trying.

Well, had a great time at the shoot. It was a single arrow, unmarked course. ended the day 3 arrows lighter then I started, all based on over estimating yardage.
My 6 year old daughter came a long and kept track of my score card for me.
Really was a blast.

Heading out to my first 3D shoot tomorrow.
What do I need to know?

LOL, I know my wife is not real happy about me going out to buy more arrows...
So now that you've spammed the Intermediate-advanced competition archery forum with your beginners' babble, go to one of the other forums that cater to this stuff for the rest of your beginner posts.

Gee wiz, read the beginning statement for what this forum is about
