Hunt took place in California on an a/o draw tag on 8/17/09.
Story go's,
Day prior to opener we spot a few sporks and a couple smaller forked horns and a buck we named knothead. Opening day comes same thing
put a couple stalks on some other bucks, but get busted and My buddy misses one.
Next day we spot knothead I decide to go for him. Get up on him at 30 yds and he's nervous and moves up a bit to 40, well I draw and put the 40 on him release and he jumps back and I hit him a little forward. He runs 25' and piles up! Walk up on him he's down took less than a minute from hit to his expiration. I was stoked My first mule deer with a bow laying in front of Me and a unique one at that.
I was using an epek wich caused massive blood loss. There was maybe a soda can of blood left in him when I dressed him. Had a couple opportunities, but hunting in sage flats, stalks can be difficult. Anyways got'er done and I am happy. Hope ya enjoy the pics.
