Cabelas Berber fleece.

 

I like this. Don’t know if you could hit the teens with it though. It’s a very warm and quiet jacket

 

I also use the Cabelas Berber Fleece when it gets cold. It is very quiet although a bit bulky and a bit heavy. But I find I it doesn't bind me up or feel like I'm a sausage stuffed into a casing. I'm just over 6 feet and around 200 pounds and I have the XL vest, jacket, pullover and L pants. I don't hunt in the pullover anymore as I have bad shoulders and it hurts to pull it on. But the pants, vest, and jacket with layering gets me through a sit in the temps you mention. I wouldn't sit all day in it though. I'd freeze. If you are looking to do long sits, the Sitka Fanatic might be the best.

Check out Nomad. I have their fleece jacket (it's a 1/2 zip up with hood) and pants. They are extremely warm, and afforadble.

 

Predator camo

 

What jacket would you recommend?

 

Just ordered a king camo xkg wind defender anorak. Will let you know when I receive it my thoughts

 

I really like the Cabela's/ basspro wooltimate jacket get the full zip not the pull over

 

The ambush jacket is very solid! Under $200. Predator ran a really good sale around fathers day last year.

 

I’m adding a Sitka Stratus this year just because. I’m currently using a couple versions of Cabelas Berber fleece with wind shear, very nice stuff; warm and well made.

 

I always end up going back to my Predator G2 Whitetail jacket... very warm and quiet. And when I need a little more layering for extreme cold, I layer with my Sitka Celsius Midi underneath.

 

I have one of the Predator jackets too, almost forgot about it. Very warm as well.

 

Sitka Stratus

 

I did have the stratus and it was a great jacket. I sold it because I felt it was a touch noisy when drawing my bow. I kept the bibs though and they are my exclusive lower outerwear all year long

 

I too have the Sitka Stratus, but no where near as quiet as the G2 Whitetail jacket, With that said, it really isn't a fair comparison because the Stratus has a wind-blocking membrane... which makes a tiny bit of noise.

 

If you can wait, Sitka goes on sale every once in a while. Up to 40% off and the stratus is a great coat. Camofire will have the kings wind defender every now and again for a good discount too.

 

Scent-lok revenant hands down for colder weather. Scent lok has some mid-weight options as well.
