Ok here is a conundrum, I have an October Mountain Takedown Recurve 28 inches @ 50 pounds and it shoots 158 FPS on Average Which is strange considering I have a 29 inch Draw so I am pulling almost 53 pounds at my draw length.
I just picked up a Fleetwood Monarch Takedown Recurve 28 inch @ 45 pounds and it shoots 171 FPS So I am pulling just a hair over 47 pounds with this bow based on my handheld bow scale.
I am using the same arrows for both and both bows are setup Identical. They both have laminated Maple limbs and both are using a fast flight Flemish twist string both are 62 inches AMO.
So can someone explain why the Fleetwood bow is faster than the October Mountain Products bow
