I've seen so many posts start with this next line and now I'll be a statistic!

I've made the plunge to traditional and need a little help. After working with a friend to test bows, I settled with a BW PSA with 60" limbs drawing 45# @ 28".

To find the right set-up for this bow, I have ordered a Carbon Express Test Kit which supplies 6 shafts, 2 each of Heritage 150, 250, 350. I plan to put a 145 gr steel point on them for testing, as I hope to eventually shoot WW broadheads which are 150 gr.

So my question is about fletching... How should I set up these test shafts? Since the idea is to see the differences and which spine flies best on this bow, I'm guessing I want a shorter feather (4"?) with straight fletching.

All advice appreciated.

FYI, my compound: BT Tribute 60# 29.5" (still love it). I Shoot RH

Bare-shaft the test arrows first. Find the proper spine for your rig by adding/subtracting weight to the front and/or cutting down the shafts. After you get good arrow flight at 15-20 yards with the bare shaft, then worry about the fletching.
5" left helical works for me, but the most important thing is getting those shafts to fly as good as possible with no fletching at all.

Thanks for the useful feedback.

I'm going to use the bareshaft planing method described by you and in detail on the bowmaker.net site - very useful stuff.
