Flex fletch makes a nice vane. They a fairly stiff so they steer well. I dont know about the models you listed but a lot of people shoot the SK-200 or 300 series.

I shoot the ffp 360 and they have held up and performed real well.

They steer broadbeads better than blazers.

 

I also use the FFP360 in the Extreme material. I like the lower profile. I think that they are quieter and they stabilize nicely. I went to these after using Blazers.

 

I tried Blazers years ago and didn't care for them. If you stood them on a table they would look like this - / / \ \ \ / \ / \ . I have been using FFP360 for several years. They are quiet, durable, stick great (Zing Primer & AAE FastSet Gel) and steer BH well.

 

Are the extreme FF better than the standard FF? I know the extremes are for high speeds..... but what is best for the 270-280fps range?

 

Did some extensive testing of FF vanes (mainly Flash) vs Blazers a number of years ago. I liked the tolerances of the FF vanes. I did not find any noticeable diff in steering ability with a fixed blade. I did notice durability issues with FF compared to Blazers. They didn’t hold up or recover as well through targets and were noticeably worse during cold temps where they would take a bend and it would be permanent. Decided to stick with Blazers after that testing. Your experience may differ and i’d be willing to try again but that’s the conclusion I reached at the time for what it’s worth.

 

I have always found that the Flex Fletch heal way better than the Blazers.

Flex fletch Once wrinkled always wrinkled. At least for me. I ended up with Q2i fusion 2.1 in a 3 fletch after trying most. My target arrows get the low pro 1.7 in 4 fletch so that I can max out my slider sight.

 

Use the Flex Fletch all day every day. Blazers are LOOOUD as hell! Better trajectory with the 360, and stabilization is equal if not better.

 

Interesting the FF are that good yet I rarely see them used by any one. Would you say its all around vane or hunting more so?

 

I am testing some FF 360's now and they are flying really well. They are NOTICABLY QUIETER as well compared to a short high profile "Blazer" Type vane.

I shot FF360, Blazer, Vantec 2" HP and Vantec 4" today 70 yards...they all flew well and grouped together...... but the FF 360's and 4" Vantec's were way quieter.

 

I've been shooting the FF418's for years.

 

Which is better in a crosswind?

 

Don't have any knowledge of the flex fletch vanes but hate the regular blazers but the blazer heat vane is one awesome vane.

Better clearence controls the arrow better and stiffer material so it last longer.

 

I am going to give some a try will see how they do!

 

Does anyone have any experience with the Swift LP series from Vanetec ?

Yeah me too.... I still have some but they are probably 20 years old. The flex fletch is a good vein but a PITA to install..... or at least they used to be. You had to clean and scrub them with acetone otherwise they would not stick

I've been using FFP 360's for quite a few years and I fletch them in a strong helical. Durable and good clearance. I don't don't do dozens and dozens of arrows and at the suggestion of GJHUNTER, I lightly sand the base of the vane and then follow it up with MEK or acetone on a Q-tip. I don't know if they have changed anything in their process, but doing this was a game changer for me.

 

What bows are you guys shooting that are having vane clearance issues? Ithought that issue went away around 1995..

Oh, and how are you determining that Blazers are super loud compared to FF 360, standing behind target while some one shoots? Decibel meter? watching yur dog s arrow flies by?

 

I just am going off my ears. Some vanes can really hear that hiss of the arrow on the way to the target. Other vanes are silent.
