I (and no i dont want to sell them) have a dozen or so of the original folding sky hooks. I have not used them in a couple years in favor of the climbing sticks. I was just curious, these things have some age on them now, and I am wondering how safe they are? They have a steel pin in the hinge area that allows them to fold, and that pin is where my concern lies. Have any of you guys still using these ever had one fail?

I am sorta wanting to put them back into use but I sure don't want to wind up gouging myself from one breakinig on me while climbing....

pin

It probably could be replaced, but I am sure the step would not be the same after. I think it would be hard to get them out and a new one in without making them sloppy, or too stiff to fold.
