Bit of advice- mix the jam with water it absorbs faster into the ground/vegetation and they love it another great tip - believe it or not-SUGAR WATER get the highest concentration tha you can I t helps to boiled a big pot of water and add 3-5 cups of sugar, let cool, pour into a spray bottle, spray. Down your favorite honeysuckle, berry, plot patch and watch them flock in......

I actually just did this tonight...I mixed some up in a gallon milk jug to take with me tomorrow when I refreshen it.

Ive always wondered about how it worked. I dont have any Apple trees in my area and didn't know if they would like it.

I have ben mixing mine 50/50 for awhile now ,it works great that way .

 

I guess i'll see how the water/jam does...I know they love it straight!

 

is the buck jam that really thick stuff? Does it need to be poured on a log or can it just go on the ground? thanks for any info.

 

Yes i is thick, they like, it but at 50/50 with water it lasts at least twice as long....

how long does this stuff take for them to find it. i have been planing on about 1 week before i hunt. what is your exp. with this

 

i cant see it taking very long. that stuff has a strong odor. I would put it out at least a couple days before if it were me. I dont have much experience with this kind of stuff but with other stuff i like it to be out a while to get them coming to it and thinking about it thru the day.

 

I have been trying just some corn with not much luck at all and my feeders have been out for almost a month. Might give this a try.

 

Took them all of about 48 hours IF THAT to find this. It was placed over a well used travel route though.

 

I have similar results with apple Buck Jam. deer will travel out of their way to get it. I water it down 50 % with apple juice

 

Got my camera back out and refreshed it today.

I use a log, but you can put it on the ground also. I poured some over the salt block's in the hole today also.

 

pour it right on the log. the softer the log the better

 

Mix it in a 5 gallon bucket with a little water and some corn, then throw it out on the ground and they will tear it up!
