I shared what I knew about them months ago. About where some of their machining was taking place. I shared shipping manifests, pics of their risers, limb pockets, and other parts from the manufacturer's website... All in CHINA. And was slammed on here for it.
Now in this podcast... Pig Man outright boasts about the riser being machined in China, to save on costs. (at the 40 minute mark). Small parts I get. But everything on this bow is being made in China except for the cams and strings. Then coated, and assembled here in the states. The technology is sound. I'm sure it's just as sound as other Strother designs. But don't slap a "Made In The USA" sticker on something that's 90% Chinese!
Just my ¢¢.

Gotta put that UV spin on things
"We're proud we make our stuff in china, the chinese people do it better than Americans, and for cheaper to so that we can make more money I mean you can get a better product at the highest prices on the industry"

High level takeaways?
What a wild podcast, is weed legal in Tennessee?

"We move with a threaded axle" Brian on Truths tuning system.

"Bowtech's new system actually infringes on Kevin's system he has already filed" that neither of them have seen. And Kevin is literally stuck in the desert at the filming of this podcast and hasn't been around the system.

More patent pending talk like that matters.

"Bowtech thinks they own the patent on moving a cam in any way" (PSE and Prime would beg to differ)

They talk about MFJJs logo which is funny because I believe he stole the logo from a drummer View attachment 8373674

Brian seems to walking back comments from the previous podcast, he previously said that Bowtech would sue him even if they went back to a spacer system, and now he's saying hey we could go back to the spacer system and be fine.

Brian says new system is, lighter, cheaper to make, and works better.

I expect at any moment for Brian to pull out a jar of snake oil.

Brian's entire gripe seems to be he's pissed off at the archery industry for not paying him money.

I had only watched about 3/4 of the podcast when I wrote it.

There was some broadhead talk I thought was kinda interesting, Brian said there were flaws in Grim Reapers retaining cup that he had a fix for, said there was flaws with the Evolution heads he had a fix for, said he copied a schwacker head, said they all get their blades from the same guy in china.

Brian definitely seems like a big proponent of chinese manufacturing, says he gets grade 5 titanium bolt kits for all his bows for $10.

He also mentioned that he never wants to raise prices on his bows, and that they've figured out new and better ways to machine things to make them faster and cheaper (did he go to china to do this?)

Also mentions his arrows and how he's In a lawsuit over them because the manufacturer or distributor did pay him. And it's some weird arrow size.

A lot of the first hour was him just telling about his difficulties on shooting a bow since he lost his eye sight, and hunting stories, and broadhead talk.

“That MFJJ guy” has done more for archery than all of us combined in here. Is he helping archers? Is he equipping archers with the best tools and equipment available? Is he equipping archers with the best knowledge available? Yes he is. He’s giving archers confidence in their equipment and even in their abilities. It keeps people in the sport where they would otherwise become too frustrated and quit. Nobody asked you to like the guy. It’s wild how often I see grown men criticize other grown men.

Long but good podcast. People who are biased towards or against Pig Man, KS, MFJJ, or Bowtech won’t likely change their minds.

A few takeaways…don’t feel sorry for Athens going down in flames, won’t buy a bow from Truth Archery or Bowtech, I’m still learning to like MFJJs content, Pig Man is a passion driven blow hard who loves what he does regardless of what others think, and I’m using smoke to cover my scent this fall.

My issue begins when grown men bash other grown men on the internet. Behind their back. Nothing more. Whether you think he “spews nonsense” or not is irrelevant to me. You can have your opinion. I encourage it, whether wrong or right. If we all believed the same thing here, we’d be a cult.

You are a grown man, bashing criticizing other grown men on the Internet.

To add context. At the point where you posted your original comment one person said he couldn't stand MFJJ, who was the guy you were responding to, another guy agreed with him, a guy said that's a lot of ego in one room, and one guy said also a lot of BS

No one has really even bashed MFJJ at that point, that didn't occur until you went on your little mini-rant about Saint Mother *** Josh Jones and everything he's done for archery.

Okay, but now you've accused me of taking you out of context, and I don't think I did since when you replied only 1 guy had said he didn't like this MFJJ Guy, one person agreed with him, and two people commented on who or BS in the room.

With that context and your further statements your position makes no sense, and to me it only seems natural that you were talking about the general hate MFJJ gets since at the time of your post no one In this thread was really bashing him, only that they didn't like him which you then went on to say you're fine with that. But that triggered your post in the first place.

Unless you can see the future in which case as an apology I'll gladly take the winning Powerball numbers.

I am not bashing anyone. I’m certainly not doing it behind anyone’s back. That was the entire premise behind my statement.

Anyhow, bash away. I’m not going to argue all day. I made my point, and that’s all I wanted to do.

I don't own a compound bow yet...getting one very soon though...got one for my son Wednesday. I've been a crossbow only hunter for 32 years. This will be my first compound bow ever and I listen to MFJJ all the time. I'm not saying everything he says is absolute but he seems to know his stuff and he's not afraid to call BS when the need arises. His reviews are very detailed and honest. He's looks just like the area he's from...has grunge written all over him...his attitude is the same as every other person from Washington state that I know. That may play a part in a lot of what people don't like about him...mohawk, attitude, not afraid to say what he wants, may seem to come off as rude. When I was stationed in Fort Lewis...that's how I kind of felt about everyone from Washington...they all seemed rude. I don't think of anything he talks about as gospel...I learn from it, and not just from listening to him...from listening to everyone else that's in or been in the archery game...then I come here to read about it as well. Most archers are smug and with him being from Washington it make him look even worse...every archer thinks he or she is better than the other and knows more about archery than the person next to them...whether it's compound bows or crossbows...I see it all the time. I've been guilty of it a few times. In the end...we all just want to shoot a target, a deer, or whatever and enjoy it at the same time.

If you dont own a compound yet then its safe to say you dont know if what he says is factual or not. Its not his attitude as you suggest. Its his willingness to pass off his opinions as facts and act as if archery didn't exist before him. People did tests on bows and reviews long before anyone knew he existed.

Everyone complaining on "chinese hardware" has to familiarize themselves with DFARS and COTS. As for machining offshore, why not? If logistically sound, and there is a quality oversight stateside, it makes sense. Its the same people complaining on pricing that complain about a screw being manufactured overseas. There is a place for "manufactured in the US". Making fasteners and punching holes aren't necessarily the best use of talent of our dwindling workforce.

I think Brian is trying in public to act tough but a few things from this podcast kinda has me thinking he knows Bowtech is going to crush him and that the ship is sinking and he’s panicking.

He was all fight never backing down on the last podcast I seen him on and on this podcast some of the things he says really shows the ship is sinking.

He says:

  • Bowtech let’s get together and come up with a solution that works for us.
  • I can take the tuning system off this bow no problem, so we don’t need it if I lose

- Bowtech should make me an offer and buy this if they want me out, I’ll listen

- I don’t sell enough bows to make this fight worthwhile

- I’ll represent myself if I have to

Yes, I see a bunch of people that complain and they're 😡 over China , I get it but they also need to realize that shirt with the American flag on it they have on and the flag flying in their front yard while getting a cup of coffee out of that "coffee maker"
Getting ready to read the News on that "Cellphone" is not going to change soon, It was hard to find even a Flag that's still made in the USA anymore, IT would take many years to get back to everything made in the USA.
Cars any vehicle and everything else is going to be almost impossible also.

most environmental laws just move the pollution from the US to a 3rd world **** hole.

where the work is done, with no safety or environmental standards and is often done by children at essentially slave labor rates.

not to long ago I devolved a product( that I did not patent, because it would just be copied by china and sold the rights too after a small production run)that needed a part made of of a particular type of plastic. one that is very cheap and easy to produce, but environmental regs make it impossible to make in the us, not because the process is toxic, but because it is not recyclable. I was able to get everything else including the packaging from verifiable us sources. I could not find anyone in the us that could make it, at pretty much any price. that was even with me willing to spend 10s of thousands on the injection mould. off shore was my only choice. I tried China, but ended up in Vietnam as the 1st batch I got from China was in a word, crap.

Yea, part of me wonders if Truth will give in when they sell all their 2025 bows. And then they'll release their 2026 bows and use Bowtech going after them in marketing way

"They tried to sue is out of existence, but we're back, Cheaper, Lighter, Faster, with new and improved tuning features. Own the bow the industry was afraid of"

PS do you have to be a "Truth Archery Guy" to shoot a Truth Archery bow? I shoot a Mathews but I'm not a Mathews guy....I bought a Harley a Road King Classic a while back but I'm not a Harley Guy either......just a motorcyclist that currently rides a Harley.
