Watched a recent video on Youtube providing an overview of ATA 2023, and at one point in the video (no, I'm not linking as I'm not really a fan) he very briefly states that G5 is making their own brand of arrows w/ their own insert system "no one's ever seen anything like this" even though it looks remarkably similar to the Day 6 Centric System.....let's be honest, the host probably hasn't seen that system, so apparently no one has.......

Anyway. here's a couple screen grabs from the video. I sent G5 a message yesterday but got no response, yet. Any info on these yet???

I was on a website yesterday at lunchtime with Sonic 250 shafts in my cart, ready to pull the trigger, and that video popped up. I still might go that route to test. Looks like 6mm brass inserts might be hard to come by right now. At least in the same site.

I saw them at ata and asked about them. They are purchasing the shafts and manufacturing the inserts for front and rear. Front will have different sizes for different weights including a standard lightweight option. Did not get any more info than that as I was too busy drooling over the revex6.

I was told that the arrows are very similar to the Carbon Express. The inserts look to be very similar to the Black Eagle FOCUS system. We are supposed to be getting a couple dozen of them in, hopefully soon. We are the number one Black Eagle dealer in our state so we are curious to see how these compare.

New arrows tend to have the least amount of appeal to me of just about any other archery related products. Even if I am not planning to buy, I check out current bows and BH's and camo and stands and accessories out of curiosity. But I've shot enough arrows to know what I like and typically what is "new and improved" doesn't mean they will produce any noticeable difference in results. As post #5 related, I have no desire to get into outserts or half-inserts or whatever. For years I shot Easton 5mm Axis with HIT inserts and have been really liking 6mm Axis and Hexx shafts with standard inserts. About as exotic as I get are 50gr brass inserts from Easton to raise the FOC and TAW a bit. While I like G5 bows and continue to use their Head-loc quivers, simply buying a brand of shaft to come out with a similar outsert product is not a draw for me. Those of you who feel differently......I urge you to investigate and report back on your experiences.

Can't argue any of that. I dabbled in "skinny" components for the 1st time ever this year, and I will likely just head back to 6mms w/ my tail tucked. The components need some work.

I wish I could still buy the 6mm Under Armour Axis arrows; they were the right weight and very durable. I'm still a bit skeptical about the Sonics, even in a 250 spine........

Those are heavy arrows. Much harder to get FOC on a lower draw weight bow and maintain decent speed with that much weight in the arrow itself. Just the shaft will be 50gr heavier than the Black Eagle Rampages I currently run. Wish they said what the grains are for the insert and sleeve.
