It seems like every time I check youtube another guy is shooting these gearhead bows. the 30 ata bow has me interested but I can’t see hoe a 24” bow can be accurate with that string angle. Anyone have any experience with these things? are they really that different from a high end Hoyt or PSE?

I got the "Bug" last spring and purchased a Gearhead Disrupter 24. The handle / grip setup is a bit different from a conventional grip on a compound bow. I find it much more comfortable to hold and between the handle and the shoot through riser arrangement the bow is easy to tune. I'm certainly not a tournament archer but a good enough shot to regularly take deer, bear, and turkeys including using the beheading type broadheads on turkeys. That said I am just as accurate with the Gearhead as I ever was with the standard (Major manufacturer flagship model) compound bows. Mechanically the Gearhead is as well made as any bow I have owned. The quality of the "Fit and finish" is also the equivalent of any of my previous bows. Bottom line is that I doubt I will ever go back to a conventional compound bow.

I personally haven't had a chance to shoot one. That said, I have seen 100's of sceptical looks turn into smiles after the first shot at many hunting expos for the past 10 years. Very well made. Side note, take a look at some of the string angles on the new crossbows and they shoot extremely well. They think they do need a speciality type peep site. Hope this helps. 🤓

Follow up to previous note.....I use a Zeiss "Z" Point red dot sight which does not involve a peep sight so I'm not sure about the peep sight / string angle issue but it is my impression that many folks do shoot the shorter Gearhead bows with peep sight systems so apparently there is a solution. I also use the "FOB" fletching alternate. For that the Gearhead folks said that for the 18 and maybe 20 inch Gearhead models a longer nock was needed to accommodate the string angle. They gave me a couple of specific suggestions for nocks but, as I opted for the 24 inch bow to meet my draw length needs, I did not pursue the nock issue as the "Super Nocks" I use work fine for the 24 inch and FOB.
