Does anyone make a "half out" style glue in field point for the micro diameter arrows? If anyone is old like me, when beaman first came out, they made "Diva-S" arrows - they sold an insert like that - the "core" was about 3" long and went down the inside of the arrow shaft, but the "head" portion actually went over the outside of the arrow shaft about 1/2" or maybe 1". I would think that would be much stronger (perhaps more expensive) that the type I see that simply but up against the cut end of the shaft.

Why a half out style and not just a standard glue in point like these?

The DIVA and similar shafts were very weak in terms of expansion strength. The fibres were all parallel, meaning they would split very easily, so they needed something at the tip and nock end to go over the outside of the shaft and contain the fibres. Points and nock outserts.

Newer arrows are made differently and don't have that issue, so no need for these types of components, which were expensive to manufacture. Also, “over” points were a real pain to pull out of some types of targets. Hardly anyone wants them any more, so nobody makes them.
