The Black Eagle vintage 42 grain brass works if you glue it in with a good grade impact tough super glue. I have been using them for years in Victory VF's, Beeman Hunters, GT Pro Hunters, Black Eagles Outlaw and Zombie Slayer and probably some others I have forgotten about. These are all whats referred to as " standard" size arrows. Which means they measure .244 to .245 inside diameter. And around .285 to .300 outside depending on spine. Gold tip runs just a smidge larger at .246. That's why they recommend you use GT components because of this slight difference. But, being the rebel I am, and having so many components laying around, I found a lot of standard components will fit the GT hunters just depends on if they run a little on the large side of .245 . I tried gluing them in with epoxy and hot melt but no good. The inserts are not real long and are sort of slick, so I rough them a little and then glue them in with an impact rated super glue. Never a problem when I do that. And they are not expensive so not like a huge investment. Some of the Amazon brass .244 inserts will work also. Experiment with one if you need to . The best test is to pound one into a foam target with a hard to pull broadhead . If they survive that about 20 times you're good. I have shot them into hogs and deer, pass through and not etc.....always work fine when glued tight. I think Carbon tech makes one 65 grains.
