I am shooting bowtech tomkat at 65 lb a 28.75 inch gold tip 55 75 125 grain head and seem to be getting some bad arrow flight. what do you think?

I think you may be underspined. Gold tip sizing chart says you should be shooting a 7595.

What type of rest are you using.
Have you checked for fletching clearance?
Have you checked for Idler or cam lean?
Has anyone checked to make sure you are not torquing the grip?
Is your bow in tune - Cam rotated properly, ATA and BH on spec?
What type of tuning method have you tried - Walk Back, Paper, etc?


Arrow spine is important, however, usually if arrow flight is very erratic, the first thing I look for is fletching contact. Once you have eliminated contact ENTIRELY, then you can start tuning. I don't even bother trying until I have checked for this. Good Luck!

the charts show you should be using 7595's, you are under spined.

with 125 grain tip you are underspined.

you might be able to get away with that poundage if you downsize to 100gr. tip. You may have to lighten the tip and poundage to shoot that shaft. I shoot the same shaft on 62#'s and 28" shaft with 100gr. point and tears bullet holes. Your just a little heavy for it.

I had the same problem and was shooting 5575's they shot alright but was not happy with broadhead flight. Went out on a limb and bought the 7595's and I am shooting tremendously better. With field tips and broadheads.

i use the same arrows at 28.25 with 100gr tips shoot great for me. i have 65#at 28.5"dl i use 4"vanes right offset.

if not fletching contact, than switch to 100gr points.
