Does anyone have any real world experience with Grim Reaper Broadheads out of 400 fps crossbows? I was curios how accurate they are and if anyone has had issues with them opening in flight? I am currently shooting 2.1 titanium on my Ravin R26. These heads are very accurate, but hearing a lot of bad reviews. i have never heard a bad review on grim reapers

I had issues with the Whitetail specials out of my crossbow last year. I was only shooting in the 340's fps range. The broadheads were not opening in flight but they were very erratic, one an inch low, the next 4" right, the next 6" low. The heads were pretty long so im sure that changes the balance of the arrow. I ended up using different broadheads.

I've been shooting various Grim Reaper broadheads for 3 years and as a high expectation user, I have spoken to them about my experience. Frankly I've been comfortable with their responses and support throughout that process.

The crossbow rated broadheads they provide are tested from 400+ fps xbows. Accuracy is excellent and in almost 100% of thew time the broadheads do fly to POA like a fieldpoint. I shoot 410 to 440 fps xbows. A nice broadhead for deer I would recommend is the #1973, Razor Cut, 3 blade, 1.5" diameter cut in 100 and 125 gn weights.

I also shoot what I call "maximum blade" Grim Reapers that are not xbow rated and I band them with dental bands to ensure they don;t ope in flight. I have shot the Pro Series Whitetail Special (#1624, 3 blade, 2" cut in 100 gn) and the Pro Series Whitetail Extreme (#1645, 4 blade, 2" cut in 125 gn). My goal is to deliver the most blade surface reasonably possible to be as effective in the harvest process as I can be. Especially for free range hog hunting which I do like to do.

Two 5/16" dental bands

Banding broadheads is not hard but another thing to do, and we all have long lists. I do it be able to use these highly effective broadheads.

Hopefully "affordable" technology catches up to our xbow speeds and at some point in the near future we won't have to do this to ensure performance of big broadheads.

Great heads just stick to the crossbow rated. I do band mine as an insurance policy. Bands dont affect accuracy or penitration.

i am 7 for 7 using grim reapers this year. but, my shots are only at around 25 yards. as txrdx said, double band them. i only wish i had these heads for the last 10 years. i have shot deer this year using scorpyt 125, excal bulldog380 and yesterday stryke zone 350. i did not band the Gr for the 350. all i got for that effort(not banding) was a 40 yard bloodtrail that i could follow with my green cap light. a 3 year old could follow it.

thanks tx rdx guy

For 35 years, I shot a 65 pound recurve shoulder surgery now has me shooting a crossbow. I spent more money on this crossbow then 40 years of hunting including buying licenses. I read reviews. I’ve shot this weapon. Oh my God I have entered a new in my hunting experience, I will always remember my recurve and the deer I have on my wall but if I had this 40 years ago, oh my
