I was very impressed with the pro series, 30 yard shot, 40 yard recovery, quartering to, arrow exited just at the last rib. I had 2 exodus and 2 grim reapers in the quiver, I would not hesitate to use the grim reaper again on elk, might even try it on a moose this year

Congratulations on the bull. I'm leaving in the morning for an Elk hunt . I'm gonna give the G 5 dead meat a try. I want to like the reapers but I'm still skeptical about the over the top deployment and the energy it robs..
I plan to shoot 10 or 15 hogs with the reapers this fall for testing.. It looks like they did a good job for you..
I'm seeing more and more people using grim reapers..

Nice bull. What size cut? I think Grim Reaper is one of the most proven heads out there. I've killed whitetails with them before without any issue. I worry about the durability a bit, but the ones I've shot through animals have been fine. I'm an overthinker by nature I guess.

1 3/8" 3 blade, the bh was like new after passing through

I’ve been using the same head for 3 years now. By far my favorite broadhead that I’ve used. Very durable and extremely sharp. I’ve had passthroughs on every deer I’ve shot with them so far with a 440gn arrow. Now I haven’t hit a shoulder or leg, but when I do my job, the head has been exceptional.

That head has killed tons of game, very rarely see negatives about the old trusty 1 3/8". Even back before the pro series. It just flat out works. There is a little known 4 blade pro series 1 3/8" and it is one of my favorites.

Congrats Carcus! You are always getting it done. I have a quiver full of Grim Reapers right now. I shot an antelope buck with a Carni-four in August and plan on shooting some deer this year with a combination of Mini Mags and Carni-fours.

I was surprised how fast the Carni-four opened. It actually had a pretty sizeable entry hole.

Nice work! I have a couple of those in my quiver right now. Like the simplicity and like that they never deploy in the quiver.
Pleasantly sharp out of the pack, and the 4 packs are also nice.
If I don’t have some mechanical catastrophe I will probably keep a couple pro series 1 3/8 in the quiver. Well done on the bull!

I called 2 bulls this morning, one probably 16yds, the other under 25 and the wind got me both times.. neither cleared the brush before getting me… rarely happens but it happened 2x today, haha

the second was the bull I have been chasing all season so that stung… he just got harder to kill

ime, you get one chance a season to call in a big bull, mess it up and you better figure out a different way to kill him
