I’m a 29” draw and only shooting 60lbs. I primarily use Grim reaper hades pro 125g. I have a scheduled fly in caribou hunt next Aug. since I shoot a low poundage I’d like to upgrade to a better broadhead. Does anyone use these above brands? Heard the IW rust really bad. Or should I just stick w my half price GR? Thank you

Grizzlystiks metal is a joke for broadheads IMHO. A complete misapplication of steel qualities.

Personally, I'd go Day Six for the rust reason, VPA S7 series, Tuffhead S7, Cutthroat S7 at that price range. Or save yourself some money and get Evolution, Sawtooth A2, Alien Archery, Cutthroat, Exodus, Tooth of the Arrow as the animal won't know the difference.

I have asked about a blade coating several times. He said they have "tossed around the idea". It's already done on their knives, so there shouldn't be many obstacles-other than increased price.
which at that point for a high dollar makes sense to go day 6. $120 already for 3 add another $10 now $130. I could see doing a once in a lifetime hunt maybe.

and before you guys get mad and say I am a iron will hater. That is further f

I’ve sold several Iron will broadheads at the two previous shops I’ve worked and managed. Neither of these company’s pay me. I’m just telling you all what I see

Do you have a single 150gr Evo X you would sell? I have been wanting to see one in person.

Our A2 tool steel with cryogenic treatment and triple temper is far superior to stainless steels for it's ability to cut through bone without damage. The combination of hardness, edge retention, and impact strength is unmatched. I've been hesitant to add a coating, since it would likely scratch off over time and our heads have a lifetime warranty. I just got back from an Alaska caribou hunt and it rained most days. We coat the blades with mineral oil at our factory and this was enough to keep them from rusting. We have a blade oil pen for easy re-application over time. In my opinion, the superior performance passing through an animal is worth the reduced corrosion resistance vs. stainless steel, since this is very manageable.

Bill,

What if the warranty excluded coating wear?

It's a losing game for him. If someone wants a similar design without the fear of corrosion there are plenty of options out there.
I suppose push come to shove you could hit it with a can of desert tan Rustoleum if you want a quick way to stop surface rust and make it look like a tuffhead. People rattle can bows and arrow shafts why not the broadhead too 😂.
