This is probably an old repeated question but from those who have shot both what's your thoughts comparing them

I have the HALON family. And my experience is I love all of them. 7 is most forgiving 6 is the median and 5 is a speed bow. 5 will make you shoot better because of the smaller brace height you literally have to shoot with perfect form. The 6 gives you a little less speed and a little more forgiveness. Best thing to do, like with every bow, is to shoot both and choose the bow that "chooses" you so to speak. I shot all 3 and loved all 3 so I bought all 3. I have a 27" DL so I started with the 5 to get extra speed. Personally for hunting I'd do 6 or 7 because of the forgiveness. I shoot the 5 with heavy arrows because it's faster for more kinetic energy. But the 5 will make you perfect your form eventually making you a better shooter. You can't go wrong with either. Like I said previously shoot them and see which one fits you best.

I would opt for the 6. Both great shooters, but 5 is more top heavy, due to reflex in riser. I noticed when drawing that the 5 tends to pull the top back towards you at beginning of draw. Short brace is also a factor if hunting.

Lets establish something....Keeping each bow equal draw length poundage same weight arrow same tune etc. Lets shoot them up... all side by side...now if they are equal all shot at the same time which do you think would release the arrow the fastest? the fastest bow ? or the one with the longest bh?

I disagree in my personal finding about the top heavy statement. maybe you are meaning just a tad bit more then the 6 but yet doesnt fall over. when i bought a 2016 bow I knew I didnt want a top heavy bow and none of the halon were.

Now which one will you be more accurate at...If your dealer has it shoot them all past 20 yards. For me I was touch shafts at 20 yards with all 3 halons. I didnt notice my groups change until I shot them past 40 yards was when I saw my problems in archery show up on my halon 5. For instance, I know that I tend to always drop my bow are way to soon. And it showed up too. I got back to great shooting though with more practice with my bow. I like the 5 and wish I would have picked up a 5BH a long time ago.

Recap

1. Shoot all of them if you can past 20 yards

2. Form can become better when shooting the smaller BH

3. 5 will be the fastest because of the shortest BH

Go out and shoot man.

Had the 6 and loved everything about it. Kept it for 2 weeks and traded for the 5. Now mind you where I live testing these bows and a 4 hour drive ain't going to work.
With the 5 I had to order limbs. I should be shooting in a week. The 5's bh intrigued me and I can't wait to shoot it.

After I shot the 5 I traded off my 7.....it shoots excellent. The draw is heavy up front but it seems to roll over quicker if that makes sense. Sometimes a bow just feels right and that's how the 5 ended up being for me which is surprising since when I shot the 6 and 7 side by side I went with the 7.....had the 5's been available to shoot when I bought my 7 I would have gone with one then.
